As we did leading up to the May primary we’ve compiled a list of Texas Budget Compact supporters headed to a July run-off. The compact was introduced to Texans in April by Governor Rick Perry.
The Governor’s initiative is comprised of the following tenets:
- Practice truth in budgeting
- Support a Constitutional limit of spending to the growth of population and inflation
- Oppose any new taxes or tax increases, and make the small business tax exemption permanent
- Preserve a strong Rainy Day Fund
- Cut unnecessary and duplicative government programs and agencies
